Nirmaan was founded by Ms. Sangeeta Bhandari in 2002, although the journey began in 1992 when her son Nikhilesh then 2 years was diagnosed as being Autistic.
During the next several years as a part of treatment and evaluation for Nikhilesh, she visited many hospitals, centers, therapists and also attended many courses in India as well as abroad-Peto Institute, Budapest, Kennedy Krieger Center Baltimore, John Hopkins Baltimore, Mayo Clinic, Rochester, Valley Therapy Phoenix, Sound and listening Center, Phoenix, The Option Institute, Sheffield. |
However always returning to Indore she realized that no such center was available for children with Autism.
A beginning was made with the guidance and encouragement of Dr. J. S. Khatpal, Ms. Darice Putterman, Dr Sudhir Kothari, and today it is a leading center for Special Children in Indore. |
